  • We are pained to announce the death of George Dowell which occurred near his home about four miles North of Cookeville last Saturday night. His death was caused by a fall from a mule which ran away with and threw him to the ground on Friday last. Mr. Dowell was a quiet, orderly christian gentleman and leaves a family and numerous relatives and friends to grieve over his sudden and untimely end. The PRESS deeply sympathizes with all, over the sad calamity.
