OAKLEY, INFANT OF J. A.: Died, last Saturday, the infant of J. A. Oakley and wife after several days illness, and was buried at the Bethlehem cemetery Sunday afternoon. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community. (Overton County) [Date: 8/9/1894, Vol. VII, No. 41, Page 6]

OAKLEY, SON OF T. M.: Young Oakley Dead -- He fell on a Box Rupturing a Blood Vessel Dying Soon After -- A son of the late T. M. Oakley, who lived at Oak Hill, while standing on a box nailing on some over head ceiling last Saturday, fell, his chest striking against the corner of the box rupturing a blood vessel, from the effects of which he died a few hours afterward. Mr. Oakley was a splendid young man and his untimely end will be mourned by a host of friends. [Date: 2/28/1895, Vol. VIII, No. 17, Page 5]

OAKLY, T. M.: T. M. Oakly, a prominent citizen of Overton county, died at his home near Oak Hill, one day last week. [Date: 10/4/1894, Vol. VII, No. 49, Page 5]

OAKWOOD, CHARLES: Charles Oakwood, who we mentioned last week as having made the trip from St. Paul, Minn., to White county in a small boat, died last Friday at Jas. Tollison's, of malarial fever and was buried Saturday near the old home place in this county. He was 60 years of age. (White County) [Date: 10/27/1898, Vol. XII, No. 4, Page 8]

OGDEN, W. B.: Killed While Hunting. -- Mr. W. B. Ogden, of Gettysburg, S. D., who will be pleasantly remembered by several friends in Cookeville on account of his marriage in Cookeville a few years ago to Miss Lee Carpenter, a daughter of H. L. Henry, was accidentally killed while out with a hunting party near his home last week. [Date: 9/9/1897, Vol. X, No. 47, Page 7]

OGLESBY, DEE: Miss Dee Oglesby, of Echo, Trousdale county, died last week. (Smith County) [Date: 8/9/1894, Vol. VII, No. 41, Page 2]

OGLETREE, ALICE: Mrs. Alice Ogletree, of Hilham, Overton county who was being treated at Dr. Fowler's private infirmatory one mile west of town, died Monday night. Her remains were carried to Hilham Tuesday evening for interment. She had been an invalid for quite some time. (Jackson County) [Date: 10/27/1898, Vol. XII, No. 4, Page 8]

ONSTOTT, JOHN H.: Col. John H. Onstott, the found of Mo[n]terey, committed suicide at Bowling Green, Ky., to-day by shooting himself through the head. [Date: 7/30/1896, Vol. IX, No. 41, Page 5]

ORANGE, FRANK M.: Gordonsville -- Frank M. Orange died at his home on the Carthage and Gordonsville road, Oct. 9, aged 74 years. (Smith County) [Date: 10/29/1896, Vol. X, No. 2, Page 6]

ORTNER, DALE: Died on the 8th Mr. Dale Ortner of Nameless, and was buried on the 9th, a large crowd attended his funeral. He leaves an aged widow and seven children and many friends to mourn his loss. Service was conducted by Rev. J. P. Whitefield. (St. Luke) [Date: 9/20/1894, Vol. VII, No. 47, Page 7]

OVERALL, INFANT OF MR. & MRS. JAS. H.: The little girl baby of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. H. Overall died last Thursday night. (DeKalb County) [Date: 1/24/1895, Vol. VIII, No. 12, Page 7]

OVERSTREET, INFANT OF MRS. J. B.: Mrs. J. B. Overstreet has been confined to her room every (sic) since the death of her little two-year old baby, and it is hoped that she will get out soon. (Elmwood) [Date: 6/21/1894, Vol. VII, No. 34, Page 1]

OVERTON, JOHN: Col. John Overton Dead. Nashville, Dec. 13. -- Col. John Overton, a life-long resident of Davidson county; died yesterday morning of 10 o'clock at his home, six miles out on the Franklin road, at the advanced age of 77 years. OWENS, CHILD OF WM.: Child of Wm. Owens and wife, of Rome, died last Thursday week. (Smith County) [Date: 9/16/1897, Vol. X, No. 48, Page 8]

OWENSBY, ELD. JAMES F.: Eld. James F. Owensby, a prominent Minister of the Christian Church died at his home near Hilham, Overton County Jan. 8th. Mr. Owensby is well and favorably known in the upper counties and had a host of friends who will be pained to learn of his death. [Date: 1/17/1895, Vol. VIII, No. 11, Page 5]

OWNBY, W. T.: W. T. Ownby Dead -- Springfield, Oct. 20. -- W. T. Ownby of Nashville, died here at the home of his father-in-law, ? J. Garrett, this morning at 7 o'clock, after ten days of intense suffering from acute malaria. [Date: 10/26/1899, Vol. XIII, No. 43, Page 1]

OZMENT, MRS.: Mrs. Ozment, wife of Mr. Rufe Ozment of the 21st district died Sept. 1st, she was buried at the old Ozment graveyard the next day in the presence of a large number of friends and neighbors. (Overton County) [Date: 9/20/1894, Vol. VII, No. 47, Page 6]
