RAMSEY, A. R.: Mr. A. R. Ramsey died at his home about three miles north or this city today (Thursday) of pneumonia. Mr. Ramsey was a prominent and well-to-do farmer, well and favorably known in this section. [Date: 1/29/1908, Vol. V, No. 52, Page 1]
RAMSEY, CYNTHIA: Mrs. Cynthia Ramsey, wife of Wm. Ramsey, died at her home a few miles north of Cookeville on April 26, 1910. [Date: 5/12/1910, Vol. VIII, No. 19, Page 5]
RAMSEY, EVA: Those that know Mrs. Eva Ramsey, daughter of Alonzo Derrington, will be much grieving to learn of her death. She died of tuberculosis on Dec. 25. (Pyland, MO) [Date: 2/8/1912, Vol. X, No. 6, Page 6]
RAMSEY, MRS. GEORGE: The angel of death visited our community last Saturday and claimed for its victim Mrs. George Ramsey. She was 72 years of age and leaves a husband, one daughter and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and indeed a friend to all whom she knew. She was a member of the Christian church and lived a true Christian till death. She was laid to rest in the Smyrna graveyard Sunday, funeral services being conducted by Prof. W. B. RANDOLPH, ELDRIDGE: Eldridge Randolph, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Randolph, died on March 15, 1910, aged eight years. He was buried at the West Cemetery on the following day. He was a bright and lovable child. [Date: 3/31/1910, Vol. VIII, No. 13, Page 4]
RANDOLPH, ELIJAH: There was a killing here (Goffton) here Sunday night. Elijah Randolph went to the house of Dudley Kirby about ten o'clock and broke down the door where Kirby's sister and daughter were. Kirby heard him and got up from his bed, went out of his room and Randolph shot him. Peter Kirby, a brother to Dudley, heard the shooting, came to his brothers home and shot Randolph, who died the next day. [Date: 3/2/1904, Vol. II, No. 4, Page 6]
RANDOLPH, LEMON: Lemon Randolph died at McMinnville Friday and was buried at Bethlehem Saturday. [Date: 5/19/1910, Vol. VIII, No. 20, Page 2]

RANDOLPH, SHEALIE: Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Randolph have our sympathy for the death of their baby, Shealie, who died March 21, 1910, aged nine months. He suffered much with pneumonia. Burial was made at the West graveyard. [Date: 3/31/1910, Vol. VIII, No. 13, Page 4]
RANSOM, MARY: The death angel visited Uncle Pate Anderson's home June 27 and took from them their granddaughter, Miss Mary Ransom. She was a good christain girl and a member of the Christain Baptist church. [Date: 7/8/1909, Vol. VII, No. 27, Page 6]
RASH, WM. A.: Another Confederate soldier has stacked his arms and passed over the river to rest under the shade of the tree. After twelve months' confinement with dropsy our neighbor and fellow soldier, Wm. A. Rash, died at his home in West Cookeville at 4:20 a. m., Aug. 23, 1904. He was born in Jackson county, Jan. 18, 1834. Married Miss Martha E. Smith Nov. 2, 1853. Joined the Christian church Dec. 23, 1853, and lived a consistent member up to his death. He leaves a faithful wife, five dutiful sons and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. He was a member of the Eighth Tennessee Regiment and served during the was as a faithful Christian soldier. Mr. Rash was 70 years, 7 months and 5 days old. . . . RAY, ELIZABETH: Mrs. Elizabeth Ray died at her home in this city Sunday and was buried near Chestnut Mound. She was an aunt of W. L. Ray and about 84 years of age. [Date: 3/11/1909, Vol. VII, No. 10, Page 5]
RAY, ELIZABETH: . . . After 83 years of earthly existence one more of the purest and most like of women has entered life more abundant . . . Mrs. Elizabeth Ray was born Feb. 24, 1827. She was converted when young at a meeting conducted at her father's home by Rev. Jesse Hickman. Her father was converted at the same meeting and some more of the family. They all joined the C. P. Church at Hopewell Campground on Cane Creek, then White County, now in Putnam. Aunt Lisey, as she was so often called by many, lived devoted Christain for more than forty years. She was wholly sanctified in the last part of her life and left all the evidence that could be desired to prove to her friends and loved ones that she was ready for the summons and was going to greet her husband and children that had obeyed the summons of death and gone on before. So on the morning of the 7th of March, 1909, at 6:30 o'clock her spirit took its flight to that everlasting home of rest that the blessed Savior went to long ago to prepare for all his children. She was married to J. P. Ray Oct. 11, 1849. To them was born one son and two daughters. The son and two daughters. The son and one daughter died in infancy; the other daughter married J. P. Young of Smith County, now living one mile from Cookeville. Aunt Lisey leaves six grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, one daughter and son-in-law, and a host of friends to mourn their loss but her great gain. [Date: 7/8/1909, Vol. VII, No. 27, Page 7]
RAY, GIRL OF MR. AND MRS. R. L.: A little girl of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ray died Wednesday and was buried today. [Date: 2/15/1912, Vol. X, No. 7, Page 4]

RAY, WILLIE LEE: Willie Lee, the 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ray of this city died Saturday and was buried at the Judd graveyard on Sunday. [Date: 7/15/1909, Vol. VII, No. 28, Page 4]
RAYMOR, MARTHA: The death angel visited our community last Friday morning, March 29, and claimed for its victim Mrs. Martha Raymor, who had been sick for some time. Mrs. Raymor had been a member of the Christian Church for a number of years, she leaves a father, husband and four brothers to mourn her loss. [Date: 4/4/1912, Vol. X, No. 14, Page 8]
REAGAN, JOE A.: Joe A. Reagan died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Reagan of this city, early last Tuesday morning, Dec. 5, 1905, and was buried today at 2 o'clock with Odd Fellow rites. Joe had suffered for several years with pulmonary trouble. He caught a cold a few days ago and few of his friends knew of his serious condition until the news of his death reached them. He had many friends in this section and was a bright young man. REAGAN, JOE A.: Tribute of Respect -- Whereas, our zealous and well beloved brother, Joe A. Reagan, departed this life on the morning of Dec. 5, 1905; Therefore, be it resolved by the Mr. View Lodge, No. 179, I. O. O. F., that by his death this lodgde (sic) sustained the loss of a worthy, devoted and enthusiastic brother and Odd Fellow, and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to his sorrowing parents and relatives in this their great bereavement. REAGAN, JOSEPH ALEXANDER: Joseph Alexander Reagan, little son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Reagan, died Thursday May 21, 1908, aged about 18 months. [Date: 5/27/1908, Vol. VI, No. 17, Page 4]
REAGAN, R. L.: R. L. Reagan died in Denver, Colo., on Friday, Oct. 29, 1909, of consumption. His remains were shipped here for burial, arriving Wednesday noon, and the funeral will take place today. Bob, as we called his, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Reagan of this city, and he lived here most of his life, going west a few years ago in the hope of recovering his health. REYNOLDS, ELIZABETH: Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds died at her home near Brotherton on Sunday evening, and was buried at the Rector graveyard Monday. She was a sister of Mrs. B. B. Jared of this place, and a most excellent lady. [Date: 7/6/1904, Vol. II, No. 22, Page 1]
REYNOLDS, MRS. E. J.: Lady Commits Suicide -- Mrs. E. J. Reynolds of Algood committed suicide last Monday by jumping into a well at her home. She was the wife of a prominent and well-known citizen of Algood. And inquest was held before Esq. H. T. Gragg, and after taking the testimony of Dr. J. T. Moore and others the jury decided that the cause of her death was the jumping into a well and the supposed cause for the act was melancholia. Mrs. Reynolds was the daughter of Esq. RIBINSON, GIRL OF MR. LOSEN: Death angels visited the home of Mr. Losen Ribinson and took from him his baby girl, age 11 years. We extend our greatest sympathy to the bereaved family. [Date: 9/29/1910, Vol. VIII, No. 39, Page 3]
RICE, CARL: Two Boys Drowned - Ammon Massa, son of Travis Massa, and Carl Rice, son of J. A. Rice, were drowned in the millpond at Gentry's mill near Window Cliff on Tuesday about 11 o'clock. Together with Edgar Hickey, about 16 years old, there were in a boat which upset. The bodies were recovered in about two hours, the water being 14 feet deep. The Massa boy was 18 and the Rice boy 14 years old. [Date: 5/20/1908, Vol. VI, No. 16, Page 1]
RICE, CHARLEY: Ravencroft -- Charley Rice was killed Feb. 2 in Iowa at the Buxton coal mines. Thirty-five cars run over him and he died in a few minutes. His remains were brought to Eastland for burial. Mr. Rice had many friends and relatives in this section. [Date: 2/16/1911, Vol. IX, No. 7, Page 8]
RICE, NONA ADAVILLE: Nona Adaville, daughter of J. A. and M. E. Rice, died Wednesday after noon near Window Cliff, of typhoid fever. She had been sick eight weeks and speechless for two weeks before her death. She seemed to realize that death was near, and the God would soon relieve her from her suffering. She said to her people that she was going to rest. She was a model little girl of 14 summers, and a friend to any one she met. She was buried in the Grimes cemetery near Boiling Springs church, in the presence of many relatives and friends God bless the bereaved father and mother and brothers and sisters, and if it is Thy will, that the other four children who are sick may recover. RICE, SALLIE: Death has again visited our community and claimed for its victim Sallie Rice. She was buried Friday at the Rice graveyard near Cameron, White County. Sallie leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss. She was a member of the Christian Baptist church and a devoted and pious christian. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community. RICHARDSON, JULIA: Mrs. Julia Richardson, wife of Carlock Richardson, died last Saturday of typhoid fever and was buried in the city cemetery Sunday afternoon. Besides her husband she left six children. [Date: 9/23/1903, Vol. I, No. 33, Page 1]
RICHARDSON, MRS. HISE: Mrs. Hise Richardson of the thirteenth district died Saturday and was buried Sunday. [Date: 3/16/1911, Vol. IX, No. 11, Page 6]

RIGSBY, MRS.: Mrs. Rigsby was stricken with paralysis January 20th at five o'clock and died at ten. [Date: 1/26/1911, Vol. IX, No. 4, Page 6]
ROBBINS, BEN: Uncle Ben Robbins, colored, was killed in a runaway the other day. He was a Tennessee negro, and one of our most highly respected colored citizens (Weatherford, TX). [Date: 12/2/1903, Vol. I, No. 43, Page 2]
ROBERSON, JANE: Aunt Jane Roberson, of Monterey Route 1, died last Thursday, and was buried Friday at Sand Springs. [Date: 2/8/1912, Vol. X, No. 6, Page 7]

ROBERTS, MARION: Uncle Marion Roberts of near Boma died Tuesday night, aged 76. He was buried Thursday near his home. He was a federal soldier in the Civil War. [Date: 1/25/1912, Vol. X, No. 4, Page 4]
ROBERTS, MRS. ANDREW: Mrs. Andrew Roberts died at her home just west of Cookeville on Monday night, Nov. 8, 1909, and was laid to rest in West cemetery on Tuesday. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hale. [Date: 11/11/1909, Vol. VII, No. 46, Page 5]
ROBERTSON, NOAH: Noah Robertson died the 15th of this month and was buried at Sand Springs. [Date: 5/23/1912, Vol. X, No. 20, Page 4]
ROBINSON, CORA: Little Cora Robinson the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Quin Robinson, age five years, entered into rest Nov. 12, 1911 after an illness of a few days of diphtheria. ROBINSON, CORA: Little Cora Robinson died Sunday of diphtheria. She was eight years old and is a beautiful little girl, one of the most lovable children I ever saw. She always greeted every one with a smile all who knew her loved her. [Date: 11/16/1911, Vol. IX, No. 46, Page 5]

ROBINSON, JIMMIE: Mr. Jimmie Robinson, son of Dr. Lafayette Robinson and wife departed this life Sept. 12, 1904 of typhoid fever, aged 27 years. He was Christian and an honest man, liked by everybody. . . . ROBINSON, LEWIS: Lewis Robinson was shot by Clay Braswell at Baxter Sunday evening about 5 o'clock, and died in a few minutes. According to reports the two men had a difficulty, in which Braswell was cut with a knife by Robinson, who followed Braswell home and attempted to renew the affair, with the above result. A shotgun loaded with small shot was the weapon used. [Date: 11/18/1903, Vol. I, No. 41, Page 6]
ROBINSON, MRS.: Mrs. Robinson, widow of Wm. Robins, died at her home in Dry Valley on March 24, 1908. The funeral was conducted by Rev. G. E. Pennington. She was about 68 years of age and a highly respected lady. [Date: 4/29/1908, Vol. VI, No. 13, Page 1]

ROGERS, INFANT OF LESLIE: Fatal Fire -- The home of Leslie Rogers in White's Bend, Jackson county, burned Wednesday morning together with the contents. ROLLINS, MRS.: The death angel visited the home of Mr. Rollins and claimed for its victim the loving wife and mother. She leaves husband, one son and daughter; she was laid to rest at the Judd Cemetery Sunday evening. [Date: 6/17/1909, Vol. VII, No. 24, Page 9]
ROMINE, MARTHA: Mrs. Martha Romine, wife of Isaac Romine of near Monterey, died one day last week. She was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by several grown children. [Date: 7/24/1913, Vol. XI, No. 30, Page 1]
ROYD, MR.: Mr. Royd of Algood died Sunday Nov. 20 and buried at the cemetery Nov. 21. [Date: 11/25/1909, Vol. VII, No. 48, Page 3]
RUSSELL, MOSE: Mose Russell and Marvin Phillips were killed by lighting one day last week near Club Springs Smith County. They took shelter under a tree with a team, which was also killed. [Date: 6/24/1909, Vol. VII, No. 25, Page 4]
