TENNESSEE DEATH RECORDS
Tennessee began recording deaths in 1908 and continued
until 1912 when the law expired. Consequently, no deaths were recorded for
the year 1913. These early records contained little useful genealogical
information. In 1914, the state began recording deaths, again. These
records are a goldmine of genealogical information, particularly for those
counties for which courthouse fires and/or disasters destroyed early
records. The books below are abstracts of early death records for Jackson,
Putnam, and White counties.
- Jackson County, Tennessee Death Records 1914 - 1925
